OMG I have been wanting to make some flip books... like forever... so here's my first attempt. I feel my students need more practice with base words and endings and I think the -ing and -ed flip books will help. Not only are they visual, but kinesthetic with all the "flipping." I hope you find this useful with your students!

These look great! We will are working on ing and ed endings this week. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing--this is a concept for our basal story this week--can't wait to use it!
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad you have found them useful. Thanks for leaving a comment!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. But how exactly are you going to use them?
ReplyDeleteAngelia- thanks for stopping by! I am using them as a teaching tool with students to illustrate the concept of base words and endings. They are mini booklets so I will use them with individual students for reading practice and for small group lessons on endings. If I have a student who needs extra practice, I will send it home to read with mom and dad. I will place some copies in our class library. You can use them many ways to best fit your needs. If you have any other ideas- I would love to hear them.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Leslie

Thanks- going to make some more when I have time with -er and -est.
ReplyDeleteThese really helped my students understand that sometimes the -ed sounds like -ed as in b-ed and sometimes it sounds like just d. After using these to review with the whole class and then with individual students, I saw a marked improvement in their reading skills. They atarted paying attention to the endings. Yeah!
