I found your blog today through TBA. I love taking my kids outside to teach. thre is just something about being outside with a book that is so relaxing and we don't have to be concerned about the noise we make. :o)

BTW- I cannot wait to read the iLearn publication too. Our school is working on getting iPads for 15 teachers and class set.

An activity my class loves to participate in is any "Knee to Knee activity with a Buddy--we do math", spelling, & brainstorming ideas!

My students love when I say "butts up" because they know this means they get to kneel at their seats and move in to the center of their table for a group activity. It really has been the best way for me to keep them on task during the activity and when I say "butts down" they know it is over.

I have been using Whole Brain Teaching (check them out on the web...it's GREAT!) and to get student attention I say 'class' and they say 'yes.' However I say it they must respond in kind...'classity class!'...'yessity yes! and so on. We all have lots of fun with the way I'll say it and it gets us smiling! Thanks, Nancy
